Alan Spruill, 71 of Springfield passed away at 12:35 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 2008 in Cox South Hospital.
Alan was born July 5, 1937 in Kansas City, Mo. to James and Ruth (Berry) Spruill. He served as an electronics technician in the U.S. Navy. Alan was a very active member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and was devoted to helping those less fortunate. Alan loved politics, had a wonderful sense of humor, and was a wonderful husband and father and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jeanne of the home; his three children, Bob Spruill and his wife, Debby of Kansas City, Mo., Marilyn Spruill of Smithville, Mo. and Russell Spruill of Joplin, Mo.; Alan is also survived by his brother-in-law, John Adams and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary and Dan Petretich.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday Nov. 3, 2008 with wake services starting at 7 p.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008 in the church with Msgr. Thomas Reidy celebrant under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home. Commital services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
