Agnes Marie Sturgis, 82, passed unto God's graces Monday, February 7, 2011 in Springfield, MO.
She was born November 25, 1928 in California MO, to Wyona (Crawford) and Peter Baker. On April 12, 1947 Agnes was united in marriage to Hugh B. Sturgis and they shared 44 years of life and love together.
She was a devout Catholic who, until failing health prevented, rarely missed Sunday Mass. Quick with a laugh she brightened the lives of everyone who knew her. Her positive and generous personality was a comfort to all around her no matter the circumstances. Agnes enjoyed dancing, gardening, embroidering and jigsaw puzzles but, taking care of her family brought her the most joy. She was an excellent cook and no holiday was complete without her pies, cakes and other wonderful dishes.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and son-in-law, Michael Havens.
Agnes is survived by her daughters Sara Taylor (Richard), Rhonda Rountree (Rex), Kim Havens, and her son Stephen (Brooke). Her brother Wallace Baker of Columbia, MO, her sister Mary Bealer of Houston, Texas, two grandsons (Nathan and Jacob Havens), two granddaughters (Jennifer Londagin and Rebecca Metcalf), and three great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to the Arbors at Ravenwood, and Regional Care Hospice, whose kindness and compassion was so appreciated during this difficult time. God bless you all.
