Zhamar Malik Young, born March 10, 1995 at 3:05pm passed away on December 29, 2009 after being struck by a truck while riding his bike.

Zhamar, son of Juanita C. Young, was a bright child who was loving, caring, sensitive, selfless, spiritual, and very wise beyond his years. He loved gospel music, singing, cooking, joking around, writing stories, and being a big brother to his siblings. Zhamar, 14, soon to be 15, was looking forward to attending high school and getting his permit. He was a great helper of his mother to his two younger siblings, and loved his family and friends unconditionally.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, great grandfather and grandmother, paternal grandfather, father, and aunt. Zhamar leaves behind his mother, maternal grandmother, paternal grandmother and step-grandfather, three brothers and three sisters, including Nalajia Houston, 9, and Myson Houston, 7, whom also live with his mother. He also left behind several biological and non-biological uncles, aunts, and cousins.
