Obituary for Carl Henry Will

Carl Henry Will
Carl Henry Will passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 26, 2017.

Carl worked at the Springfield Workshop for 37 years and was very proud of his work during those years. He won a number of awards at the workshop for perfect attendance and excellence in the workplace. Carl was a St. Louis Cardinals and Cubs fan, and an avid MSU Bears fan.

Family meant everything to Carl Henry. He loved his church family at Immanuel Lutheran, and loved singing in the choir and congregation. Carl enjoyed singing at family gatherings with his mom, dad, brother, aunts, uncles and cousins. Music was very important, and extremely enjoyable in Carl’s life.

Wayne Glenn, “The Old Record Collector” was one of Carl’s favorite radio personalities here in the Ozarks. Carl listened to Wayne’s “Remember When” radio program every Saturday morning and every Sunday evening for many, many years. He knew many of the songs played on this radio program and he also knew many Lutheran hymns from the Lutheran Hymnal by heart.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Carl V. and Irma (Ahrens) Will. He is survived by his brother, Mark A. and wife, Connie (Stanton) Will; his two nieces, Anna Wilson, and husband, Brandon, and Aubrey Pierce and husband, Jordan; two great nephews, Hunter and Remington Wilson; and many beloved relatives and friends.

Carl will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and by his church family at Immanuel Lutheran. The entire Will family wishes to thank Wilson’s Creek Care Center nurses and staff for their tireless care for Carl during his years as a resident there. Also we want to thank Hospice nurses for their kind and special care for Carl during his final days. We are forever grateful for their tender care and for playing hymns in Carl’s room for him to enjoy, as he rested peacefully until he went to be with Jesus.

Happy Homecoming, Carl!

Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut, with Pastor Rich Ramsbacher officiating.
