Obituary for Rex Frank Vanderhoof

Rex Frank  Vanderhoof
Rex Frank Vanderhoof, 80, Springfield, passed away on October 29, 2014.

He was born November 22, 1933 in Red Oak, Iowa to Howard and Gertrude (Frank) Vanderhoof.

Rex was a retired Marine, serving in Korea and Vietnam.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and the love of his life, Ann.

Rex is survived by his daughter, Cathy Briggs (Scott); sons, Joe Vanderhoof (Renee), John Vanderhoof (Renee), and Mike Kennedy (Judy); 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be at 8:30 a.m. Friday October 31, 2014 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Fr. Fergus Monaghan celebrant under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut St. Burial with military honors will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.

Visitation at the church will start at 8:00 a.m. Friday until the start of the Mass.
