Obituary for Martha N. Reuter (Miller)

Martha N.  Reuter (Miller)
Martha Nelle (Miller) Reuter, age 91, passed away peacefully on Oct 4, 2014, in her home in Springfield, MO surrounded by her family. Martha was born in Urbana, MO on July 13, 1923 to Ellis Carl, Sr. & Lillie (Haymes) Miller. She graduated from Buffalo High School in 1941. In December 1941 while attending Central Business College in Sedalia, MO, she met her future husband Albert Jack Reuter. They married August 17, 1943. After a military life of 21 years, they settled in Urbana, MO and became partners in the Vaughan Insurance Agency. They were active members of the Urbana Methodist Church then became founding members of Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church. They moved to Springfield, MO in 2003 for health reasons. In Springfield, they were members of Asbury United Methodist Church and the Queen City Lions Club. Martha was a passionate advocate and participant of the United Methodist Women organization. Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Jack, who died in June 2009. Martha is survived by her brother, William Miller (Irene) of Warrensburg, MO, six Children: Jackie Crawford (Jimmy), Robert Reuter (Jane), Rike Reuter, Kip Reuter (Mary Jane), Renate Reuter and Tara Johnson (Robert). Also surviving are nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
She will be forever loved and missed as our Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt and friend.
Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 10 from 6 to 8 pm. The Celebration of Life service will be Saturday Oct. 11 at 11:30 am. Both services will take place at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut, Springfield, MO. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Martha’s name.
