Estelle Katherine Kahlert Pollock, age 96, passed away in Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, Virginia on Sunday January 1, 2017 at 1:02 a.m. She was a long-time member of St. Agnes Cathedral in Springfield, Missouri.

Estelle was born March 21, 1920 in St. Louis, Missouri to Joseph Kahlert and Hedwig (Haddie) Lobin Kahlert. Estelle studied accounting at Saint Louis University and worked as a bookkeeper at various times throughout her life while raising her family. At the age of 59, she studied to be a Nursing Home Aide and worked to help elderly people with their care. She worked in this capacity until the age of 86, when she officially retired.

Estelle was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Harriet (Hattie), Martha, and Frances, and her brothers Tony, Joe, and Richard. Estelle is survived by her four sons (Philip, Michael, Jerome, Brian) and their spouses, three daughters (Veronica, Diane, Carolyn) and their spouses, 20 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday January 13, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the parlor at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E Walnut St, Springfield, Missouri 65806. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 12 noon in St. Agnes Cathedral, 533 S. Jefferson, Springfield, Missouri 65806 with Father Gregory Tran celebrant. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 4677 W Division St, Springfield, Missouri.
