Obituary for Reta Scola (Murdaugh)

Reta  Scola (Murdaugh)
Reta Scola, 76 of Republic, MO passed away Monday May 28, 2018 in Sonshine Manor with her husband Joe at her side.

Reta was born January 15, 1942 in Springfield, MO to Willis Lance and Ava (White) Murdaugh. She was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed crafts, all types of sewing including making clothing and beautiful afghans for many members of her family. Reta also enjoyed gardening and canned all types of produce from their garden. She was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching Lady Bears basketball. The candy she made for the holidays was legendary. Reta became the hostess of family gatherings and was a wonderful cook. Family meant absolutely everything to Reta and she loved her nieces and nephews very much. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Willis L. Murdaugh, Jr. a sister Jeanne Wright and nieces Sherri Lynn and Meagan.

She is survived by her husband Joe; her brothers and their spouses, Rodney & Sharon Murdaugh and Steve & Dianne Murdaugh; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews; and a special friend Lilly Johnson who called her Grandma Reta.

Visitation will be from 5 pm to 7 pm Friday June 1, 2018 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday June 2, 2018 in Evergreen Cemetery in Republic, MO with James Gunter officiating.
