Obituary for John Edward Cunningham

John Edward  Cunningham
John Edward Cunningham 79, of Springfield, Missouri passed away Friday, March 23rd, 2018 after a long illness.

He was born May 25th, 1939, in Springfield, Missouri to William and Lela (Swegart) Cunningham.

He attended St. Joseph’s and St Agnes Schools. He was an army veteran who served for 2 years.

He married Patricia Goin in 1963 at Springfield, Missouri. While serving overseas in France he became interested in Archaeology and antique restoration. He started his own fine art and antique restoration business and was known as a talented artist in his field. He also enjoy collecting stamps, military items, guns, arrowheads and Native American Indian art.

He is preceded in death by his parents William and Lela, brothers Mark and Bobby and sister Kathleen.

He is survived by his children John William Cunningham, Sarah K. Cunningham Gibson, Patrick Xavier Cunningham and Christopher Edward Cunningham, His younger brother Phillip Cunningham and his wife Gail, their sons Martin and Thomas Cunningham and his grandson Benjamin Davies Griffin.

Memorial mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2018, in St. Agnes Chapel, Springfield, Missouri. Followed by a committal service at Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 12 p.m. Monday in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri.

Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri or C.A.R.E. Animal Rescue.
