Obituary for Johne B. (Nahler) Zeller

Johne B. (Nahler) Zeller
Johne Belle (Nahler) Zeller born August 10, 1919, in Hartsburg, MO and passed away on Tuesday March 13, 2018 at the Manor at Elfindale, Springfield, MO. She married Ralph A. Zeller on April 15, 1939 they were married for 64 years. Johne’s parents were John and Laura Nahler, she had one sister, one brother and one grandchild that preceded her in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Janice Parrish and husband Calvin, of Springfield, MO, Donna Wilmsmeyer and husband Hugo of Columbia, MO. Five grandchildren, Tammy Raby and husband Randy, of Strafford, MO, Tim Parrish and wife Melenda of Springfield, MO, Jeff Parrish and wife Holly, of Schroon Lake, NY, Brian Wilmsmeyer and wife Tammy of Springfield, MO, Shawn Wilmsmeyer and wife Emmy of Warners, NY. Eight great-grandchildren, Reid Jackson and wife Kearstin, Layne Jackson and fiancée Anthony Barnhart, Sam and Luke Parrish, Ty and Cody Wilmsmeyer, Trevor and Jack Wilmsmeyer and two step-great-grandchildren, Alex and Drew Raby.
Johne and Ralph lived in New Franklin, MO for many years and owned and operated the Zeller Variety Store. Johne was also the pianist at New Franklin First Baptist Church for many years. She was very faithful to her church, highly involved in mission’s activities and also with the Sunday School Dept. In later years she and Ralph moved to Columbia where they attended Calvary Baptist Church. In retirement she and Ralph vacationed to Texas every winter in their travel trailer and enjoyed those years so very much with many good friends. After many years in Columbia they moved to Springfield in 1994 so they could be closer to the grandkids. They attended South Haven Baptist Church and made many good friends through their church involvement. After Ralph’s passing in 2003 she had a lot of good times with her church friends, sharing their love of quilting and playing cards.

She was known as Mimi to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. We were all very blessed to spend so many great years with her. She loved her family very much and we have many wonderful memories to hang onto, but we all take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with Paw Paw and many other family members.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Manor at Elfindale as well as the staff with Good Shepherd Hospice for the wonderful care they gave Johne. They all treated her with tremendous love and respect.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday March 21, 2018 at Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home.
