Karen Yvette  Ellis-Simmons (Ellis)
Karen Yvette Ellis-Simmons 53, of Springfield passed away Thursday January 4, 2018 in her home.

She was born November 27, 1964 in Hopewell, Virginia to Elmer Rudolph and Annie Mae (Drumhellar) Ellis. She graduated from Hopewell High School in 1982 and attended John Tyler Community College. Karen loved reading every day. She was a strong Christian woman who knew Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour. Karen and Mark were married for fourteen years.

Karen is survived by her husband Mark Simmons of the home; her son J.C. Young of Prince George County, Virginia; her sister Patty Tiempro of Colonial Heights, Virginia; one granddaughter, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many other relatives and friends.
