Obituary for Beverly Jane Calvetti (Marshall)

Beverly Jane Calvetti (Marshall)
Beverly Jane Calvetti
September 22, 1935—March 11, 2018

Every life is filled with unique experiences that are formative to the dignity of that individual. And, all of a life’s meanings are found in the web of relationships in which that individual is centered, formed, and cradled in.

In this we find Beverly. A beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Beverly touched the lives of many with her intelligence, smile, wit, and caring expressions.

She was the first child of William and Dorothy Marshall. She was followed by Thomas, and then by Nancy. Their young family life was filled with the ending years of the Great Depression and the turbulent years of World War II. The 1950’s presented an era of new hope.

In November of 1954 Beverly married John Richard Calvetti (dcd 1991) and they began their family. Son, Douglas Lawrence (1955); Daughter, Lisa Ann (1958). Then their family grew to four children in the early 1960’s. Son, William Angelo (Billy-1960); Son, John Andrew (Andy) 1963. Their lives were consumed with the provision and care of their children. Beverly, the primary care giver and John the primary income earner.

In January of 1977 their son, Billy died in a tragic gun accident. Bill’s passing shadowed their lives with grief. His untimely death significantly influenced all remaining family members.

Beverly in her many relationship roles as sister and aunt is survived by her brother Thom, his wife Linda and their children; her sister Nancy and her children. In her relationship roles as mother and grandmother, she is survived, by her son Douglas, his wife Milagros and their children Christopher, Giovahna, and Thalia and their children and spouses; by her daughter Lisa, and her husband Bruce; and by her son Andy and his children Amber and Kelsey.

Beverly’s sudden passing on Sunday, March 11, 2018 as a result of post-surgical complications has saddened us. We affirm, Beverly’s family and friends will miss her and the joy that she brought to us. And, with heartfelt joy we gather together in a celebration of her life. Amen.
