Obituary for David Anthony Schibler

David Anthony  Schibler
David Anthony Schibler, 68, of Springfield passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Glendale Gardens, Springfield.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kathleen Mohrs Schibler and brothers-in-law Jim Starkey and Claude DeBogdan.

He is survived by five sisters: Janie and husband Richard Pille of Eureka Springs, AR, Susie and husband Bruce Hibbs of Rush, AR, Patty and husband Greg Alvey of Owensboro, KY, Nancy DeBogdan of Ava, MO, and Kate Starkey of Springfield, MO. He is also survived by one brother, Steve Schibler and wife Lynda, Springfield, Mo.
along with many treasured nieces and nephews.

Dave was born September 27, 1949 in Springfield, Missouri to Bernard (Barney) and Elizabeth Ann (Bessie) Schibler.

He was a 1967 graduate of St. Agnes High School in Springfield, Missouri. After graduation Dave joined the Air Force where he became proficient in computer programming. He was stationed at various bases in Oklahoma and Texas before a year’s assignment to Korat, Thailand. He worked for Griesemer Quarry/Springfield Underground for many years.
Dave was an ardent Cardinals fan, a stubborn liberal, and a profoundly generous man. He will be missed by all who met him.

A private service will be held later by the family. Internment will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Schibler Shack Fund at the Community Foundation of the Ozarks.
