Coming Home for Life Celebration

Herman was born on January 18, 1936 in St. Louis, MO to union of Ivory and May Etta Certain. Herman was raised in a big family with thirteen siblings, twelve preceding him in death.

Herman and Edith united in Holy matrimony on July 26, 1997. Two children were born to this union, Etta and William Collins. He was preceded in death by his son.

Herman was a family man, he worked several jobs in construction and contracted other jobs on his own. He also had a big trash service. Herman was devoted to his wife of several years. He was a member of the Armed Services and several surrounding clubs in Springfield. He loved his party and family time. He will be greatly missed.

He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted and loving wife, Edith; a daughter, Etta; two grandchildren, Darian and Jaycee; a sister-in-law, Maxine; and lots of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family of Herman Certain would like to thank you for all the prayers they received throughout the time of sorrow and needs.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home in Springfield.

Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:00 am Saturday, September 2, 2017 in the Herman H. Lohmeyer Chapel with Pastor James Robinson officiating.
