Barbara Marie  Burnes
Barbara Marie Burnes, age 79, of Springfield, Missouri passed away Monday, August 21, 2017.

She was born November 23, 1937 in West Plains, Missouri, the daughter of William Edward Riley and Vertestia (Panky) Riley.

Barbara loved animals. For many years her hobby was breeding and showing her beloved Chinese Shar Pei.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Tess Riley; her brother, Harley Riley; her grandsons, Matthew Barton, Micah and Solomon Jackson; Daughter-in-law, Janie Burnes and children, Derek and April Applegate; her niece, Terry Moller; and her husband, Robert Burnes.

Barbara is survived by three children; Holly and spouse, Jeffery Jackson of Springfield, Missouri, Cheryl Howell and spouse, Butch Rolfsmeyer, of Ava, Missouri, Alan Burnes of Ava, Missouri; two brothers and one sister, Sonny and Shannon Riley of West Plains, Missouri, Linda and Steve McKee of Caulfield, Missouri, Ray Riley and Diana of Cotter, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren: Aaron and Shawn Barnhart of Blue Springs, Missouri, Sarah and Brian Wickins of Springfield, Missouri, Benjamin Jackson of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Adam and Nikki Moreland of Oldfield, Missouri, Ryan Moreland of Ava, Missouri, Michael Barton of Springfield, Missouri, Daniel Burnes of Madison, Alabama, Robbie Burnes, and Jaden Burnes; 16 great grandchildren: Joshua Hansen, Cy, Eli, Anna, and Abel Wickins, Noah and Abigail Moreland, Ciara, Gavin, Trenton, and Xander Barton, Taylor, Michaela, Archer Barton, Sasha and Savanah Burnes.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., September 22, 2017 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Road, Springfield, Missouri 65804.
