Obituary for Earl Dean Stockdale

Earl Dean  Stockdale
Earl “Dean” Stockdale, 69, passed away on Sunday, August 6th, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

He was born on October 20, 1947 in Conway, Missouri to Harold and Mary Ellen (McElwain) Stockdale.

Dean grew up in Springfield, Missouri. After high school he attended Springfield College of Commerce where he received a bachelor’s degree in machinery on July 12th 1965. He then began working as a machinist for Sweetheart Cup Company for 25 years. Dean enjoyed fishing, farming, all things outdoors, hunting, and even a little bit of Johnny Cash from time to time.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Mary Ellen Stockdale; his two sisters Janice Rose and Lois Messina; his brother Leonard “Carl” Stockdale.

Dean is survived by his daughter, Melissa Granger of Springfield, MO; his son Tony Stockdale, of Colorado Springs, Co; his daughter Tina Callahan (Stockdale) of Pottersville, Missouri; grandchildren Vanessa Queen, Terrance King, Crystal Stockdale, Toni Brussow; his sisters Evelyn Masten, Vhelma Ortiz, Susie Stockdale; his brothers Jerry, Bobby and Melvin; also his other loving nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives.

A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00am on Monday, August 14, 2017 at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 1164 Long State Highway Y in Conway, Missouri 65632.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Monday, August 14, 2017 at St. Luke United Methodist Church with Pastor Wanda Heidemann officiating. Burial will follow in St. Luke Cemetery.
