Obituary for Tamara Jo Yorke (Blake)

Ms. Tamara (Tammy) Jo Blake Yorke of Springfield, Missouri died at her home on Monday, June 5, 2017. Tammy was born in Independence, Kansas, on February 14, 1961. She was the only daughter of Bob and Delores Blake and was raised in Cherryvale, Kansas. Tammy was a devoted mother, sister, and friend and will be missed by all who knew her. She was a loving caregiver to her sweet fur babies – Little Bit and Giselle.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John Robert Yorke and Sarah Yorke of Springfield, Missouri and her brother and sister-in-law Bradley (Blu) and Patti Blake of Parsons, Kansas.

Tammy was very proud of her 10 years’ military service in the United States Navy and her work thereafter as a Network Administrator for the Federal Courthouse in Springfield, Missouri. She loved music, singing, gardening, and going to flea markets and church bazaars. She had recently returned to school at Evangel University to pursue a degree in Christian ministry.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2017, at the Deliverance Temple Church in Springfield, Missouri, where Tammy was a member. Interment with full military honors will be at 1:00 p.m. at the Springfield National Cemetery, 1702 E. Seminole, Springfield, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to Deliverance Temple Church.
