Obituary for Burnet "Burnie" Joe Baker

Burnet “Burnie” Joe Baker, "Rosie" Bird Man" 67, passed away on Wednesday May 24, 2017 in the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James, Missouri. He was born in Lebanon, Missouri on Thursday, November 17, 1949 to Betty Jo Lucas and Burnet Gale Baker.

Burnie graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1968. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany from 1968 -1971. Burnie started his walk with his Savior in 1962 and was baptized and was a member of Highstreet Baptist Church. He was an artist, an avid fisherman, loved to listen to Elvis records and spend time with his family and friends, especially his Mother.

Burnie was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Eula Marie Baker and one brother Lawrence “Larry” Baker.

He is survived by his two brothers, William Lorenzo Baker of Springfield and Alvin Lee Baker of Hollywood, CA; two aunts, Lotie Moreno of Marshfield, MO and Maxine Baker of Springfield, MO and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.

A private family visitation will be at 2 p.m. Thursday June 1, 2017 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut Street Springfield, MO. Graveside services with full military honors will be at 1 p.m. Friday June 2, 2017 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens .
