Obituary for Paul G Rogers

Paul G Rogers
As gentle rain storms rumbled across the skies during the night of May 20th, 2017, Paul passed away peacefully in the home he'd shared for decades with his devoted and beloved wife Marcia.

Paul was born in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas to Eliga and Leola (Moss) Rogers. He and his brother LeeRoy grew up in Camp, Arkansas. Due to their mother's passing in their early teens, the family moved to the Lake of the Ozarks area where their father's family lived.

As a young man seeking adventure, Paul was working in Manitou Springs, Colorado when he met Marcia. Together they traveled in their '68 Chevy Van, working odd jobs and exploring the country from coast to coast. Their mutual dream of rural living led them to settle in the Ozarks. While Paul worked in the construction industry, they eventually found a country home where his hard work and common sense approach would create a place where he and Marcia could flourish. There for almost 30 years they shared an enjoyment of the natural world around them. Paul's construction knowledge added to making the old farmhouse their own. The years of caring for rescued dogs and cats, as well as a small menagerie of farm animals, enriched their lives. There were many seasons of gardening and of course delightful bird watching.

Paul's nephew Joe grew up nearby and many happy outings were planned to area attractions. Everyone enjoyed these times whether we were exploring the Ozarks caves or on sightseeing trips to the big cities.

Paul is survived and deeply missed by his wife Marcia and their dog Topaz, along with some great cats and Ernie the miracle donkey.

Paul is also survived by his brother LeeRoy and his wife Cindy,
his nephew Joe and his wife Paige, and many dear and loving friends.

We will always remember his kind and gentle ways.
