Obituary for Patricia L. Owsley (Bandy)

Patricia Owsley, 75, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2018. She was born in Louisiana, Missouri and spent her childhood in Eolia, Missouri, living with her grandmother, Sarah Ogden. She was active in Eolia Baptist Church and Clopton High School in Clarksville. At Clopton she enjoyed being a cheerleader, preforming in the marching band, and spending time with a close circle of high school friends.

Pat graduated from Clopton High School and attended Deaconess Nursing School in St. Louis. She graduated with a registered nursing degree and accepted her first job at Children’s Hospital in the Barnes Group, St. Louis. In 1968, she met and married David Owsley and they lived in Florissant, Missouri, where their daughter, Robin was born. They moved to Edmond, Oklahoma in 1974 where Pat continued her 24 year nursing career becoming head nurse at Edmond Memorial Hospital. She was active in the First Christian Church there, and devoted most of her time and energy to her daughter, Robin, and her activities in church and school.

David and Pat retired to Springfield, Missouri, in 1997, where she was active in the Wesley United Methodist Church and in many volunteer and mission activities in the city. One of her favorite places to devote her time and energy was the Crosslines Food Bank where she served for over twenty years.

She is survived by her daughter, Robin of Seattle, Washington; and brother Ed Bandy of Troy, Missouri; and brother and sister-in-law, Seth and Gaylon Owsley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Springfield. A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 AM prior to the service at the church.
