Condolence From: John Richey
Condolence: Tommy as a hero for me at SMU. He was the first winner of the Mike Kelsey Award, I was the second. He was my inspiration. I also was one of 7 who won the first Red Helmet Awards at SMU from coach Hayden Fry. There are only 4 of us left.
Tommy was the toughest football player at SMU, absolutely fearless with 110 % effort!

Condolence: Don, Becky, Claire, I truly respected your dad and enjoyed my friendship with him. When I was in jr. high, I worked for him picking rocks on the farm and after a long, hot day he fed us and was the first adult to offer me a beer. I must admit that was pretty cool. Most loved having him as part of our semi-pro baseball team. Great times! My thoughts and prayers are with you all. God Bless.

Condolence: So sorry to hear of Mr. Brennan's passing. He was my teacher and PE coach at Greenhill school in Dallas from 1970 to 1974. He was an inspiration to his students. He got me to read Rabble to Arms in eighth grade history, and he taught us free market thinking and principles. He inspired me to run a mile faster than I ever thought I could, even though I had little ability. I eventually ran a marathon. Hands down, he was the best teacher I ever had. He will be greatly missed.

Condolence: I was so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. I went to Pleasantville HS, NY when Tom was a hero at Rye HS. I went to SMU partly because I met Tom and liked SMU. He was a fantastic player at SMU, starring in the Challenger Bowl in Corpus his senior year. We lost contact as I went into the Army after college. Tom and Terry were so in love and very good to me as a lowly freshman. Very best to his family. My hope was to look him up this spring in Springfield. Roger Gross

Condolence: My heart goes out to the Brennan family.

There weren’t many weekends growing up that my family didn’t visit the Brennan farm to spend time with Tom, Terry, and his family. They welcomed us with open arms and many days were spent BBQ’ing, watching football, doing batting practice on apples, playing badminton, swimming at the creek, searching for morels, hunting, fishing, working cattle, fixing farm equipment, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company. Tom taught me many important life lessons like the value of hard work, sticking by your principals, respecting your elders (filial piety), and not finishing off the coffee ice cream (having consideration for others). These were some of the best times of my life and Tom’s dream of moving to Mansfield to be a land and cattle baron made it all possible. Thanks to a great man that I was very, very fortunate to get to know and learn from. I hope you are back on the farm, reunited with Terry, eating a steak you “cooked to perfection” with a frosty glass, enjoying a beautiful sunset over the Douglas County hills.

I will miss you.

Condolence: My friend Tom, I have news of you passing and I am sad, that I will not hear that beloved "HEY, DAVE". No longer banter about politics and the sins of the day.

What a influence you and Terry had on my and my families life, I was so lucky to know you and share with you in this life. I will carry your memories forever.

I will never be afraid to speak you name for you are my friend. I will never forget those cherished times I spent with you through this journey of life.

It kind of makes me hope selfishly that there is a afterlife, for I maybe I could enjoy yours and Terry's presents again.

There are just so few people in this world that one can say that "I truly enjoy spending time with", and I will miss them both".
