Obituary for James Lee Payne

James Lee Payne, 87, of Bolivar, Missouri passed from this life on September 2, 2016, in Verona, Missouri following a brief illness. James was born June 11, 1929, in Sentinel, Mo to James Luther and Lillie (Howard) Payne. He was a 1947 graduate of Halfway High School. After a brief time in the United States Marine Corps, he went into business with his brother Milton, to operate Payne Brothers Implement Company in Bolivar, Mo. In 1972 he married his wife Betty, and continued to operate the implement company until 2013.
He is survived by his sister Emma Breshears and husband Don of Independence, two step sons, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Halfway Missionary Baptist Church in Halfway, Mo at 10:00 a.m.
In liew of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association or local facilities that support Alzheimers and Dementia.
