Obituary for William Gaddy

William Gaddy
William Carroll Gaddy "Bill" born March 2, 1938 went home to be with the Lord September 12, 2017. He was greeted at the gates of heaven by his beloved wife of 59 years Jessie Aline Teer Gaddy. We can only imagine this was the happiest of reunions.

Bill was a Veteran of the United States Navy and served as a systems analyst for Bell Savings and Loan for many years. He continued his work with analyzing systems, programming, and computers throughout his life. Bill was a member of the Class of 56 at Senior High School in Springfield Missouri and was very active in the reunion committee. Bill was a man who loved to give people a hard time. You knew he liked you if he was giving you a hard time. Bill was a caring and generous man, to a fault. He would always give more than he could ever receive. His family, who he loved fiercely knew this very well. His dry wit and humor will forever be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is proceeded in death by his beloved wife Jessie, his daughter Saundra, his parents Allen and Delma (Lasiter) Gaddy, and his older brother James (Jimmy) Gaddy. Bill is survived by a sister Betty Steele and husband Jerry, His son Jeff and wife Mandi. A daughter Vicky Hood and husband Bob. A daughter Paula Thompson. A son Jason and wife Terri, all of Springfield. Grandchildren, Ryan, Mathew, Jordan, Tessie, Ashley, Elijah, Kellen, Wesley, Holden, Jessie and Emma. 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside Services with Full Military Honors will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017 at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery, 5201 South Southwood Road, Springfield, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or to the charity of your choice.
