Condolences

Condolence From: steve grinnell
Condolence: My deepest condolences to the family. My family moved next door to the Duchows when I was 8, and my sister and Susan became friends, and Sally and I were the same age, and Chester and I killed grasshoppers together. Sally was exactly 29 days older than I was, and at age 8, I was so much taller than her, I couldn't believe that she was older. Every July 1st I would think of Sally. And today she would have been 63. I don't think I have seen Sally since graduation, but I have always thought of her as the tiny girl I lived next door to. I am so sorry for your loss.

Condolence: Sue and Sally's sons, oh what a hoot Sally was!!!She provided all of us at Victory Vintage with many a laugh...no one got in her way! I'm sure her dry sense of humor has left all of you with more than fond memories and a good story or two, sorry I can't share most of mine here, but will with you, Sue, when I see you soon. I always told her that her real name was Stubborn, not Sally. She tried so hard to hide her soft side, but we all saw it. Her sons and Sue were her reason for living, and fighting till the end, please remember that. Although she would argue it, she will be missed dearly. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. With deepest sympathy and sorrow, Karen Ourth.

Condolence: I am sending thoughts, my deepest sympathies and prayers to Sally's family and loved ones. I feel so blessed to have reconnected via the internet with my high school classmate a couple of years ago. Since then, most of my days began with an "internet coffee clutch" with Sally every morning, and we often passed many hours a day playing "Words With Friends" as we both dealt with our own health issues. Sally was an irreplaceable and constant source of inspiration, love and support. I know that I can't possibly miss Sally more than her beloved family and loved ones, but the hole in my life left by her passing is immense. I can honestly say that I've never known such a strong, loving and beautiful woman. She will always live in my heart.

I would like to give a special "thank you" to Sally's niece, Tessa, for keeping an old classmate like me, whom she's never even met, so up-to-date on Sally's brave battle with cancer when Sally became too sick to communicate. Thank you, Tessa.

May God bless Sally's sons, family and loved ones with comfort and healing at this difficult time. God has truly picked a rose.

Condolence: Sending many thoughts and prayers to Sally's family. I knew her from when she grew up in Monroe. Her brother, Chester, was best friends with my brother-in-law, Terry Hoover. She was a very caring person and spoke so lovingly of her children and family and I'm sure you are going to miss her like crazy. My very deepest sympathy to you all. Billie
