Obituary for Bruce Snow

Bruce Snow
Bruce E. Snow, 80 years, passed away July 12, 2015. His family was at his side at the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Mt. Vernon, MO.

He was born August 7, 1934, in Douglas County MO, son of Charles Edward and Maude M. (Lakey) Snow. Bruce was the youngest of seven children.

Bruce served in the Army with the European Branch stationed in Germany from 1957-1959 and remained on reserve until 1963. He worked at Dayco of Springfield, MO for 25 years and also ran his own small engine shop in Aurora and Billings, MO during his lifetime. Bruce was also a “Mr. Fixit” type of guy. He would help anyone who needed it in any way that he could.

Bruce loved music. From a young age he played guitar and sang throughout his lifetime. He was a member of The Piney River Boys Band and played in contests, benefits, radio shows, and numerous other events. He loved to play and sing for all of his family and friends and was very talented. He liked to joke around and laugh a lot, and also liked to tell stories…he had some good ones! He enjoyed getting involved in talks about politics, religion, news events, and a little bit of everything. Last but not least, Bruce loved his children and was also very compassionate toward animals.

Bruce was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Helen Snow, in December of 2014. He was also preceded in death by his parents Ed and Maude Snow and his siblings: Bertie Nelson of Sparta, MO; Alva Pruiett of Ava, MO; Orville Pruiett of Billings, MO; Jay Pruiett of Billings, MO; Junior Pruiett of Springfield, MO; Herbert Snow of Wichita, KS. He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law Steve Boswell of Pineville, MO.

He is survived by his children Sandy Edwards and husband Chris of Billings, MO and Steve Snow and wife Sandra from Springfield, MO. He also had several step-children who he loved as his own: Dena Vaughn of Santa Rosa, CA; Carla McCalip and husband John of Niangua, MO; Stacy Boswell of Pineville, MO; David Vaughn and wife Sandy of Springfield, MO. He had 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Bruce and his smile will be greatly missed by all!
