Marilynn Lee Dunn, 91 of Springfield passed away Wednesday June 17, 2015 in Mercy Hospital. Marilynn was born Sept. 28, 1923 in Tina, Mo. to Virgil and Pauline (Clay) Miles.
Her life revolved around her church and her family. Marilynn was a very active member of Wesley United Methodist Church for over 30 years involved in the Choir, Prayer Shawl Knitting Group, Pace Exercise Group and Singing Ambassadors. Prior to her Wesley membership she was a member of Campbell Ave. Methodist Church for over 40 years serving as a Youth Leader and Sunday School Teacher. She loved singing with the Civic Aires and the Sweet Adeline’s.
Marilynn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Wallace Dunn, her sister, Bonnie Fabro and her brother, Don Miles. She is survived by her children, Vicki Hunn of St. Louis, Mo., Rick Miles Dunn (Diane) of San Antonio, Texas and W. Brent Dunn (Jennifer) of Nixa, Mo. ; her grandchildren, Wesley Dunn (Chelsea), Mallarie Dunn, Eric Hunn and W. Dalton Dunn; her sisters, Betty Noblitt of Sugarland, Texas and Joanne Verfurth (Bill) of Billings, Mo.; and her sisters-in-law, Sara Dunn Tink of Austin, Texas and Marie Miles of Mt. Vernon, Mo. and several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday June 20, 2015 in Wesley United Methodist Church with services beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Scott Bailey-Kirk officiating. Burial will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home.
