Joseph Robert "Bob"  Mackler
Joseph R. (Bob) Mackler, 94, of Springfield, MO passed away March 3, 2015, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon, MO.

Bob was born Dec. 26, 1920 in Shackleford, MO to Joseph M. and Nellie A. (Hagan) Mackler. He married Betty Jean Koenig on June 9, 1946.

Bob is survived by three daughters, Barbara (James) Robertson, Jeanie (John) Barton and Vickie Stockglausner. Six grandchildren, Joe Robertson, Anna (Dan) Doke, Tim Barnes, Tanya (Mike) Herrin, Tyson Stockglausner and Jacob Stockglausner. Five great-grandchildren, Emily Doke, Tyler Barnes, Sadie Barnes, Brooke Herrin and Nick Herrin and one great-great granddaughter Delilah Barnes, one sister Hazel Doris (Pete) Howell and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, James P. Mackler and one sister, Dorothy N. Arni.

Bob was a World War II veteran serving in the Army’s 24th Infantry Division, Tech Sergeant, as a medical technician from 1942-1945 in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, and a past member of Lions Club, Rotary Club, VFW and 50 year member of the Funeral Directors Association. He was especially proud of having received the State FFA Degree presented by the State FFA Association in 1938.

His interests included boating, fishing, playing pool at the Southside Senior Center, raising a garden and caring for his yard, feeding his birds/squirrels and his many
canine pets, especially Rowdy.

Visitation will be held at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home on Friday March 6, 2015, from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Services will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Scott Bailey-Kirk and Pastor Mi Hyeon Lee officiating. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall, MO on Saturday March 7, 2015 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, appreciated memorials may be made to C.A.R.E. Animal Shelter or Southside Senior Center in Springfield, MO.
