Obituary for Kevin Lee Lowe

Kevin Lee Lowe
Kevin Lee Lowe, 45 of Rogersville, Mo. passed away suddenly at his home on February 23, 2015 from an apparent heart attack. Kevin was born to Donnie and Jeanie Lowe on September 15, 1969 in Willow Springs, Mo. He was a graduate of Willow Springs High School and the University of Missouri-Rolla where he earned his BS in Civil Engineering in 1992. As was Kevin, he had a plan and began work that next Monday, and married his high school sweetheart, Dana Medley the following week. Together they built a wonderful life with many friends and family and three wonderful children.

Kevin worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation in Willow Springs, Mo. as an Operations Engineer until 2001 when he left to become the Highway Administrator of Green County, Missouri. In 2005, he became a Client Manager for Olsson Associates and opened their first office in Springfield, Mo. In 2011, he began working at City Utilities of Springfield where he was serving as the Director of Transit at the time of his death.

As a person, Kevin was generous, stubborn, smart, empathetic, competitive, and displayed an incredible knack for never meeting a stranger or forgetting a face. He made friends wherever he went because he was genuinely interested in people and brought a smile to those he met. He could make a game out of anything and loved the thrill of competition whether it was his children’s mighty mite football games, the Blue and Gold tournament or a skins game on the golf course. Kevin embraced life and lived it fully. With his quick wit and infectious laugh, he was a favorite uncle and friend to many. He loved laughter, golf, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and all things sport but above all, he unconditionally loved his family. He was a member of the River of Life Lutheran Church in Rogersville, Mo.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father Donnie Lowe and leaves behind his wife Dana and his children Hannah, Sarah and Caleb of the home. He is survived by his mother Jeanie Lowe of Willow Springs, Mo., his brother Kelly (Dana) Lowe of Rogersville, Mo, brother Kurt (Christy) Lowe, of Dora, Mo. brother-in-law John (Jennifer) Medley, Columbia, Mo. and sister-in-law Dawn (Troy) Medley of Oak Ridge, Tn. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Ellie, Carson, Sam, Keena, and Ella who loved him dearly.

A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held at the Fellowship Bible Church in Rogersville, Mo. on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Friends and family are encouraged to come and spend time sharing stories and catching up as Kevin would have enjoyed. A private gathering will be held to scatter Kevin’s remains at a later date.
