Obituary for Amber Marilee Steinmetz (Grauer)

Amber Marilee Steinmetz, 92, passed away Monday November 24, 2014 in Springfield, MO.

She was born August 22, 1922 in Palmer, Illinois to Luttie Furn and Frederick William Grauer. Amber taught high school math in Campbell, MO for 14 years, and then taught at community colleges in Santa Rosa, CA and Poplar Bluff, MO until her retirement. She also served as the president of American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges in 1984 and 1985.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one grandson, and her husband Benno Steinmetz.

Amber is survived by her children Linda Schott, Barbara Godley, Cynthia Weber, and William Steinmetz; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many friends and family.
