Tracy was my friend. I met her in 1978 at children's hospital in St. Louis when I was first diagnosed with diabetes at age 11. I was scared and very shy. I was put in a room with Tracy and right away she smiled at me and I don't remember word for word what she said to me but I know that she made me feel so much better and less afraid of what lie ahead, for she was already a pro at what had to be done for our disease, shots and all. When we were both home again we began to write each other. I remember I could hardly stand the wait for another letter to come in the mail. We lost contact for some time, but she was never far from my mind. I was lucky enough to be reunited with her online and wish I had more time with her. She will always be my friend and diabetic sister. And as we said at the end of every letter...LYLAS Rest in peace Tracy <3

She was a soul unlike any I have ever met before. She always made the best out of every situation. She will be and is already missed dearly by the family left behind.
