Obituary for Lawrence (Pete) Grieshaber

Lawrence “Pete” Grieshaber went to his Lord on Friday, August 25, 2017 after a brief stay at the Maples Care Center. Pete was born July 19, 1929 in Festus, Mo to Lawrence Sr and Catherine Grieshaber. He was active in Sacred Heart Church and St. Pius X High School. He is a 4th degree Knights of Columbus. He and his wife Pat who preceded him in death, lived in Stuart, Florida for a few years in the late 80’s where they loved golf, fishing, and gardening. They moved to Springfield, Mo in the early 90’s to be closer to family, Pete and Pat were active in Elizabeth Ann-Seton Parish. He loved working with bees and working in his greenhouse.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patricia, and his brother Earl. He is survived by his daughter Ann McVeyand her husband Randy; son Mark and his wife Debbie; son Robert and his wife Jimmie, sisters Betty Flader and Anna Mae Hirschman; sister in laws
Donna Grieshaber and Lucy Schmidt; grandchildren Shane, Andrea, Aaron, Alecia, Lola, Jennifer, Kyle and Cory; and 19 great grandchildren in addition to many nieces and nephews.

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2017 in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2200 W. Republic Road, Springfield, Missouri with Msgr. Thomas Reidy celebrant. Visitation will begin at 6:30 p.m. Monday, August 28, 2017 til 8:30 p.m.. in Herman H. Lohmeyer Chapel, 500 E. Walnut St, Springfield with Rosary services beginning at 8 p.m. Inurnment will be later in Resurrection Cemetery, Springfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri, 424 E. Monastery Street, Springfield, Missouri 65807 or the American Cancer Society.
