Obituary for Espy L. Smith Jr.
Espy L. Smith, Jr. 92 of Nixa passed away Monday May 2, 2016 in the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
Espy was born July 5, 1923 in Star City, Arkansas to Espy Lee Sr. and Lilly Lee (McEntire) Smith. He was hard worker and loved his work as a builder. Espy served in the US Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Dorothy Shirley Smith who was the mother of Larry Lee Smith and David Keith Smith; his third wife, Delpha Smith, and his siblings, Thomas Newton Smith, Bonita Bardwell Foster and Arnold Joseph Smith.
Survivors include his two sons, Larry Smith and David Smith; his sister, Barbara Sue Orr; his grandchild, Nicholas Smith; and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews who loved him dearly.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday May 10, 2016 in Wesley United Methodist Church. Committal services with military honors will follow in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home. Visitation will begin 1 hour prior to the service in the church.
